Presidential Salute Program

Presidential Salute is a program designed to recognize employees who are providing quality service to FIU. Faculty, staff, students and external constituents now have an opportunity to nominate co-workers and employees for their outstanding service on behalf of the university. Regardless of your classification or status, this program allows us to honor employees who are delivering service excellence in their respective roles, to our students, and to our internal and external constituents.

Recognizing Outstanding Service

Nominations will be selected on a weekly basis by the Presidential Salute Task Force. Upon receipt of the selected nominations, President Mark B. Rosenberg will send a Presidential Salute to each employee to express his appreciation for his or her service to the university. This notice will be disseminated university-wide via e-mail as a way for the university community to be informed about those employees who are continuing to add value to FIU and to join in the recognition process.

Rewarding Outstanding Service

At the end of each quarter, the Presidential Salute Task Force will review the nominations of those who received a Presidential Salute during the quarter and select up to three (3) recipients from this group who have demonstrated the most outstanding service. Recipients will receive a special message and certificate from the President as well as a non-monetary award.

On an annual basis, the Task Force will identify one employee who has demonstrated superior service to honor during the university’s Employee Service and Recognition Awards Ceremony.
