Hiring departments must advise their new employees to complete a Sign On packet in order to be placed on payroll. The completed Sign On packet, employment documents, completed Employment Eligibility Form (Form I-9), and Loyalty Oath should be received by the Employee Records Department for processing by the appropriate payroll deadline.
All new employees must complete an FIU Employment Application prior to completing a New Employee Sign On packet, and include the application when submitting paperwork to Human Resources.
Sign On packets are available to new employees according to their type of employment (Pay Plan).

New employees who are in benefit earning positions have sixty (60) days from the date of hire to select health insurance coverage and/or other available benefits.
