FIU has implemented a Chosen First Name Policy. All Panthers now have the option to choose the first name they prefer to appear in University systems. Chosen first names will also be used to refer to them during day-to-day University business.

Staff who are also students and wish to add a chosen first name and pronoun can visit go.fiu.edu/chosenfirstname. The update of pronouns will only be available in Campus Solutions. Please note that if you enter both a Preferred Name in Human Resources and in Campus Solutions, the Preferred Name from Human Resources will supersede Campus.

This policy enables members of our FIU to affirm, reflect, and/or express their gender, culture, and/or other aspects of their social identity.
