Reimbursement of Certain Relocation Expenses
The university may elect to offer moving allowance for relocation expenses for salaried faculty and staff new hires up to the limits established in the university’s Moving and Relocation Policy. To ensure compliance with IRS guidelines, departments must inform eligible employees of the moving allowance amount within the offer letter and provide the Moving and Relocation Policy and Procedure.
Moving Company Selection
It is recommended that the employee obtain estimates from at least two moving companies. The university’s Purchasing Department has also established contracts with moving companies that offer competitive pricing.
